The Art of Conversationality

Upon joining former Philly-based ad agency STICK and MOVE, I was tasked with reimagining and redesigning their self-promo book. Beyond communicating the agency’s philosophy and approach to advertising, I had to make sure that the culture and soul of the agency shone through—it wasn’t enough for this book to be on brand; it had to give the feeling of being inside the agency’s walls and collective personality.
The final books featured screw post binding, hand-distressed accents, boxing-related design elements (calling back to the origins of the agency’s name), and an “easter egg” paradigm created through french fold binding. Each page could be cut open to reveal a photographic spread highlighting a unique aspect of agency life and culture. From the punching bag in the lobby to bowling team photos and our agency hiatus at the Jersey Shore, each spread brought the reader deeper into the world of STICK and MOVE.
